Wow!! I was beginning to wonder whether or not we would have a meeting in November. First Chris Kraemer contacted me in late October to ask if we could postpone our meeting for a week. After checking with our scheduled demonstrator and the MAWT Board members, we rescheduled. Next, the Friday before the meeting our scheduled demonstrator cancelled. Finally, the weekend just prior to the rescheduled meeting I received multiple emails expressing uncertainty about the 14th as a meeting date, so I needed to reconfirm with Woodcraft about that.
We finally got it all pulled together and had our meeting. I pulled a demo out of my back pocket so I demonstrated two months in a row. A big “Thank You” to those of you who expressed your appreciation for the demo. I will create another posting with some resources for making lidded boxes and/or jars.
The video of the demo is posted at the top of the Demo Videos page on our website.
2023
I’m optimistic about 2023. We already have club members who have volunteered to demo in the months of February and March. We have had a few people volunteer to serve on the board. And, trees continue to grow, so there seems to be no shortage of material for us to work with.
Dues
Speaking of 2023 – it is the time of year when we need to pay our dues. In the MAWT, membership runs from January 1 through December 31. This greatly simplifies our bookkeeping. You can pay with cash or check at any club meeting. You can pay on line with a credit card at this link. You can send a check to George Warwzyniak – his address is at the bottom of this page.
Scholarship Grant
If you are interested in applying for a Scholarship Grant for 2023, please send an application to me by Thanksgiving so the board can consider it. We would like to announce the recipient at the Holiday Party in early December. Members can access the grant and the rules for it on this page (you must sign in to the website to do so).
