Newsletter for January 2020 Monthly Meeting

Hi all,

For our first club meeting of 2020, we had two presenters:

  • First, Aaron Foley, an attorney who practices estate planning law. He provided information to help members understand wills, trusts and directives, allowing them to figure out what to do with all of their personal belongings which includes tools and equipment.
  • Followed by club member Dennis Motl with a demonstration on fun and creativity. He allowed members to take out their frustrations by smashing turned items destined for the fireplace and then get artistic by constructing creative wood sculptures.

Upcoming Milwaukee Woodworker’s Show – Feb. 21-23: We need volunteers to help out at the MAWT booth. Contact coordinator Mark Trenier ( mark.trenier@yahoo.com) with the dates and times you can help. Free admission to all volunteers. While there, you can also help out at the Wounded Warrior pen-turning booth.

Beads of Courage: Remember to bring in your Beads of Courage bowls. The club will continue with this program and is planning on delivering the bowls to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin throughout the year.

Library: There are a lot of unreturned videos and books, so please look for them and return items at the next meeting. You can always drop them off anytime into the drop-box located at the bottom of the meeting area stairs.

See everyone in February.

Safe turning,
Ron Zdroik
