Hi everyone:
Here we are – almost half way through the year. By the end of the month we will officially be in the Summer season! It’s the time of year to be preparing those blanks that you want to turn when the weather forces us indoors this coming fall and winter.
Whether or not you were able to catch John Jordan’s demo on Monday night, here are the links to a couple of his web pages:
- Main Web Site – https://www.johnjordanwoodturning.com/
- Carving Resource List – https://www.johnjordanwoodturning.com/carving-resources.html
Here are a few reminders of events that are coming up:
There will be an Empty Bowls event in the Milwaukee area, coming up in late summer / early fall. If you plan to contribute bowls, lease have them ready by the August meeting. If you bring them to the Woodcraft basement, we will make sure they are passed along to the collection point. If you have never made empty bowls before, here is a link to an earlier post that may be helpful. There is a helpful comment at the bottom of the post about making your own food safe finish.
Later this month is the AAW Symposium, held in Chattanooga. It’s not too late to register and attend.
Next month, is Turn On Chicago. The 2022 symposium will be held from July 28-31 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Northbrook, Illinois.
