Meetings

Mark Trenier did a presentation and demo on turning a Nativity Scene.  As always, Mark was entertaining while showing how he goes about the turning.  He will also post a set of written instructions to our website. The video of Mark’s presentation is posted on the Demo Videos page of this website.

Our next meeting is the Christmas and Holiday party on December 1, at 6:30 PM.  There are no announcements, show and tell etc.  It is an opportunity to socialize and eat good food with fellow club members.  MAWT will provide the entree, buns, soda and water.  Members are encouraged to bring a dish to share.  An optional gift exchange is also part of the tradition.  If you choose to participate, bring a small turned item that is wrapped or in a bag to be exchanged.

Membership dues for 2026 continue to be $35.  Please get your payment to George or Edwin.  You may also renew via our website.

Turn for Troops

Anyone with pens to  turn in should get them to Woodcraft by Dec 7 to be included in this year’s shipment. Over the 2 days Nov 8 and 9 we turned 103 pens for the troops.

The total for the year is currently 348 with more on the way. Thank you to everyone who participated in this effort.

Folk Fair

MAWT will participate in the Holiday Folk Fair this year. It will be held on Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23.  We will have two lathes and numerous members turning and selling their work.  Ron Zdroik is organizing the MAWT participation in this event.
